- An easy orientation walk along the lakeshore path from Ribčev Laz to Ukanc: flat, about an hour each way, first views of the peaks with no elevation gain to shake off the flight

Slap Savica, the Komarča cliff path & Črno jezero

The hike
15 minutes from Stara Fužina to the Slap Savica car park.
- The trail climbs steadily to Savica Waterfall (15 minutes, worth the pause), then continues up the secured, cable-assisted Komarča cliff path, exposed in places but not technical, to Črno jezero, the lowest and darkest of the Triglav Lakes
- Round trip roughly 7–8km, ~600m elevation gain, 4–4.5 hours including stops
- Strong hikers can continue ~45 minutes each way to Dvojno jezero
- Sturdy boots and poles recommended

Gostilna Mihovc, Stara Fužina, Bohinj's oldest restaurant (1888); beef soup, žlikrofi, and trout are the order, kept flexible given the day's hike.

Mostnica Gorge, then over to the Soča Valley
Today
Before checking out, a short flat walk into the Voje valley and Mostnica Gorge: 2km of narrow, deep-cut river channels, about 1–1.5 hours round trip, a leg-stretcher rather than a second big day.
- Drive to the Soča Valley via the lower Podbrdo–Petrovo Brdo–Tolmin road (Vršič Pass can see first snow by now, so this route stays under 1,000m throughout)

Found almost nowhere else
Marble trout, on tonight's menu, is native only to the Soča river system and a handful of neighbouring valleys, a genuinely rare fish outside this one corner of Europe.
Kobarid's history, then Kozjak Waterfall

Morning at the Kobarid Museum, one of the most highly regarded small museums in Slovenia, covering the WWI Isonzo/Soča Front.
- Afternoon: the walk to Kozjak Waterfall, about 3.5km round trip, 1–1.5 hours, easy-to-moderate with one steep, cable-secured section, following a tributary of the Soča through a gorge to a 15m waterfall
A young Hemingway was here
Ernest Hemingway served as an ambulance driver on this front in 1918. The chaotic Italian retreat that followed became the backbone of A Farewell to Arms.

Restaurant Kotlar, Kobarid: an Adriatic-leaning menu with local dumplings, a slightly dressier note for the trip's last full evening.
